I loved the chalkboard signs leading the way to a day of creating at The Royal Lady Workshop, hosted by
The welcome table, complete with cute vintage accessories and our swag bags with Bobbi Brown makeup samples; a yummy cookie mix from Heather of Farmgirl Gourmet; and homemade goats milk soap from Elaine. What a way to make a girl feel welcome!
The clotheslines pinned with vintage aprons made a fun border for our creative retreat.
The whole setting was so relaxing and refreshing, the lawn, the trees, the quilts, the breeze...and these Ball jars hanging with delicious raspberry cuttings from Elaine's raspberry patch.
The inspiration crown by Elaine. It's always so cool to see how everyone's project turn out so unique and individual, just like our fingerprints.
Our beautiful German Glass Glitter in creamer pitchers...so cute and turned out to be super functional, too!
Some of my in-process inspiration pieces...ready for lunch!!
The amazing menu and food by Heather Stradley Scholten, the creative force behind http://www.farmgirlgourmet.com/.
Our refreshing drinks were bottled by Elaine herself...I loved the fizzy strawberry lemonade.
The adorable vintage tin that hid our surprise dessert...
Um, can you say incredible dessert, and incredibly cute! These canning jars held bluberry pie...yum, oh, yum...I tried to get more than one, but no one wanted to share.
A view of our creative space....dappled sunlight included.
The Royal Lady Workshop crew (top left: Elaine Tolson, Lauren Tolson & sweet nephew, Jackie Tolson, Elaine's high school friend, me, Heidi Jantz, Diana Chelf. bottom left: Heather Scholton, Trisha Love, Amber Fowler and Fielding Chelf. Photographer; Amber Strehle). All creative, talented, fun and beautiful ladies.
My sister's crown in all it's glory...
My beautiful sister Heidi modeling her creation.
I love how my crown turned out with all of it's bits and pieces and loads of German glass glitter...
If the crown fits... well, I like to think it does.
Two of our creative classmates, and friends, Fielding and Diana Chelf of the local Two Women(tm) Barn Bazaar. http://www.twowomencountrychic.com/ It's Fielding's horse crown at the beginning of this post!
A sister close up pic by Amber Strehle of Tres Birds Photography, she is soo fun!! http://tresbirds.showitsite.com/ One of the nicest things about the day way getting to have hours of uninterrupted conversation with Heidi, which just doesn't happen very often anymore.
A crown created by one of the fun ladies, Trisha Love using our Funky Junk poster banner "Junking Done Properly"-a line created by our designer and my sister Heidi Jantz...so perfect...
And here is the reason I can create at all...my husband Mark holds everything together while I'm away, working, creating, playing. And he is literally holding in his hands our three sweeties, on an AMAZING canvas print I was able to give him for Father's Day. The very lovely and talented Deb Kennedy of http://retreatdesign.blogspot.com/ had a generous giveaway a couple months back and I won-hooray!! She teamed up with the super nice Megan Edgeller who works for Easy Canvas Prints and BuildASign.com. (http://www.easycanvasprints.com/canvas-prints/). I had such a great time making and recieving this beautiful picture transformed into a canvas print-it's a treasure for Mark, just like he and the boys are treasures to me!
~Love the Queen Hollie (at least in my own head)
Hi Hollie,
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful day! Thank you for sharing it with us. I wish Cel & I could have made it for the Crown Retreat. The last one was so much fun!!
See you soon.

Oh I had wanted to attend this event. Actually even placed a call to do so contingent upon getting that day off of work. I wasn't able to get the day off and you know how things always work out...that was sat july 30th and my sweet little lady I had taken care of full time for 4 yrs. passed away just 3 days later. So I know I would have been so sad not to have spent that last sat with her and her grandkids like I've done for the past couple years. Looks like you had a blast! I will go to a class sometime! :)
ReplyDeleteoh yes...I'm just quite sure you are a QUEEN!
Holly, what a fun day you girls had, and it's SUCH a treat to see the print you created with CanvasPrints! The smile on your hubby's face is priceless ;0)
